What To Expect

Sundays are the time when the whole church gathers together to express and seek to increase our love for God and each other.  Sunday activities begin with Training for Christian Living at 9:45 A.M.  During this time, classes meet for all ages from pre-school through adult with nursery provided for infants and toddlers.  This is a time of instruction in the practical implications of Scripture.  In the adult classes, there is instruction offered on various topics such as marriage, community, sharing one's faith with others, and etc.  There is teaching as well as Q&A in each of the classes.  The setting is relaxed so participants are able to ask questions about the material and interact with the teachers and one another.  Come early and enjoy a cup of coffee with us.

The 11 A.M. meeting is the time when PCC gathers to worship God through singing and hearing instruction from the Bible.  The time together normally begins with a welcome from the pastor and is followed by reading from the Bible and prayer.  The assembly is then invited to express their praise to and delight in God by singing.  There is a time for greeting one another and welcoming guests.  Since the Bible is central to the life of the church, a significant portion of the time together is devoted to verse by verse explanation and application of the teachings of the text of Scripture.  Nursery is provided during this gathering as well as Jr. church for children age four through third grade.  The atmosphere is friendly and informal.  We are always glad to have guests in our assembly and everyone is welcome.

The 11 o'clock service is followed by a fellowship meal.  This is a time when our church family and guests gather to share a meal together.  This meal is served in the lower level of the church building and those who participate generally bring a dish to share although we do not expect guests to bring anything in order to join us.  During the meal (normally toward the end), the members of our church celebrate the Lord's Table (sometimes also referred to as communion) which is an ordinance that the Lord Jesus established and said that the church should celebrate until He returns.  The Lord's Table consists of those who are followers of Jesus eating unleavened bread and drinking wine in order to remember the person and work of Jesus.  The meal offers a time for us to catch up with one another and to get to know those who may be visiting with us as well as enjoying the celebration of the Lord's Table on a regular basis.

Wednesday evenings offer age graded classes and activities for all ages and the youth group for 9th through 12th grade meets during this time.  In the adult gathering, there are prayer requests taken, prayers are offered, and a time of instruction on a particular book of the Bible or a particular teaching from the Bible.  This meeting is normally over around 8:15.  We hope you will join us during each of these times to see what we're about.
